Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith Hostel
The Vidyapith Hostel is run under the supervision and guidance of the monastic warden and his monastic assistants. The current strength of the Hostel is 225. The Hostel provides the necessary learning and spiritual atmosphere. Regular morning and evening prayers are held. The Jayanthis of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and Swami Ramakrishnananda are observed solemnly with speeches by the Warden, Principal and other eminent speakers. Festivals forming a part of the worship of Hindu deities are held.
The Hostel also has a well equipped library of its own and subscribes to a number of journals, magazines and newspapers, both English and Tamil.
There is a regular reading from the lives of the direct disciples of Sri Ramakrishna by the students. Special bhajans are organized on Fridays.
Students of the Hostel visit the Universal Temple of Sri Ramakrishna at Mylapore and derive benefit from such visits. They make it a point to attend the puja and evening service of festive days.
Twenty five students are being given free board and lodging during the current academic year.
