The Certificate Course in Bioinformatics is designed to equip students, researchers and professionals with the essential skills and knowledge to navigate the rapidly evolving field of biological data analysis.

This interdisciplinary programme integrates principles from biology, computer science, enabling participants to understand and utilize computational tools for analyzing complex biological data sets. Topics covered include sequence alignment, protein structure prediction, genomics, and data mining techniques.

Through hands-on training and real-world applications, students will learn how to leverage bioinformatics in research, drug discovery, and personalized medicine. By the end of the course, participants will be well-prepared to tackle contemporary challenges in bioinformatics and contribute meaningfully to advancements in biotechnology and life sciences.

Learners having interest and basic knowledge on biology and computers (+2 level).

The students of any UG or PG programme who are studying biology / chemistry / computer science / pharmacy and researchers and professionals working in the field of biology or drug discovery may participate in the programme.

The course has been divided in to 5 modules to enable the students to understand the basic concepts of biology, computers and tools and applications of Bioinformatics in stepwise and sequential manner.

14 exercises with reference to the topics covered in the theory

The programme has been designed in hybrid mode to enable the participants to learn easily without any hurdles. The theory classes will be handled in online mode. 2 classes per week for a duration of 2 hours per day covering a pan of 6 weeks (Total 24hours). The offline practical class will be conducted for one day (6 hours duration).

The participants willing to join the course will be provided with a link in the college website and set of instructions.

The successful completion of registration, they will be joined in the what’s app group and further instructions will be given there.
