Dr. Yaga Venugopal Reddy, better known as Y. V. Reddy (born 17 August 1941) is a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1964 batch belonging to Andhra Pradesh cadre. Reddy served as Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) (India's central bank) from 6 September 2003 until 5 September 2008.

In 2010, he was awarded India's second highest civilian honour, the Padma Vibhushan.

Previously he was Director of the Intelligence Bureau until 2006 and then Governor of Chhattisgarh from 2007 to 2010.

M. P. Veerendra Kumar is an Indian politician, writer and journalist, who was a member of the 14th Lok Sabha. He is also the chairman and managing director of the Malayalam daily newspaper Mathrubhumi. A prominent writer in Malayalam, he won the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award in 2010 for his travelogue Haimavatha Bhoovil.

Born to Marudevi Avva and Padmaprabha Gowder on 22 July 1936 in a Jain family in Kalpetta, and after schooling in Kalpetta and at Kozhikode, he did his Masters in Philosophy from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College, Madras.

Thiagarajan has performed over 4,000 concerts all over the world. He has accompanied the Palghat Mani Iyer, M. S. Gopalakrishnan, Umayalpuram Sivaraman, T. N. Krishnan, Palghat Raghu, V. V. Subramaniam, among others, on the flute. He has also accompanied many performers on the violin, including his father N. Ramani, D. K. Jayaraman, and U. Srinivas. He has also a large student following in India.

Dr. Srinivasan Chandrasekaran (born 1945) is an Indian organic and organometallic chemist, academic and a former chair of the Department of Organic Chemistry and the Division of Chemical Sciences and a former Dean of the Faculty of Science at Indian Institute of Science. He was known for his researches on organic reaction mechanisms and organic synthesis and was an elected fellow of the Indian National Science Academy, The World Academy of Sciences and the Indian Academy of Sciences. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the apex agency of the Government of India for scientific research, awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, one of the highest Indian science awards, in 1989, for his contributions to chemical sciences.
